Raddon Hill again, as you can more than likely see, this is a special place of mine. Its mornings like these that make me think if I could get friends out for one successful morning shoot, a misty dawn upon Raddon Hill would be my choice. Good light at a dramatic location is breathtaking, but surveying the misty patchwork countryside from Raddon’s top is just pure magic. I just love the ghostly walk in the eerie silent dawn through the mists and then breaking out above on the top, looking back down the ridge is like an ocean island surrounded by pastel tones and hues. It really is another world when it’s like this.
I set out an hour before sunrise to make the most of just being there. As I made the walk it was truly beautiful with images in all directions. The mist was perfectly shrouding the landscape and not covering a working Devon farm. I have used this farm as a key inertest with the long lens a few times in the past but never making a success with it. This morning however I floated back down the hill with that warm feeling of satisfaction.
