This has been a repeat visit as I felt the photograph I captured a few years before was a little disorganized and needed improving. When I arrived at these thatching stooks the sun was blasting across the fields rendering a rather dramatic scene, but for me it just didn’t feel right with this kind of photograph. As the sun dipped below the horizon, a blanket of tiny clouds peppered the sky up above; my first thought was to capture them as they were to echo the stooks leading off to the horizon. By the time they made their way into my viewfinder I was cooking up exposures of 120 seconds, any chance of detail in the sky at these lengthy recordings is pretty slim. Luckily they produced soft ghostly streaks through the sky tying in nicely with the spooky cold glowing stooks.
